Anforderungen

  • Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong track record in design, implementation, testing, operation, and maintenance of large PLC-based SCADA systems
  • Proven ability to program PLCs and develop software for sensor-based data
  • Skills in evaluating environmental sensors for reliable performance in harsh environments
  • Experience evaluating sensors in high magnetic or radiation fields
  • Basic knowledge of procuring industrial and custom devices
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD tools for modelling and optimising PLC-rack-cabling integration
  • Proven ability to work successfully within multinational and multicultural teams
  • Configuration and implementation of industrial data-acquisition, monitoring and control systems
  • Design and implementation of safety interlock systems
  • Installation, operation and maintenance of industrial data-acquisition, monitoring and control systems
  • Construction, test and commissioning of electrical circuits and networks
  • Testing and measurement of front-end electronics for analog sensors and transducers
  • Structured and organised approach towards work with results in mind
  • Ability to work well in teams and participate actively
  • Active participation in implementation of new processes and technologies
  • Taking initiative beyond regular tasks
  • Effective communication of opinions and ideas
  • Spoken and written English, commitment to learn French
  • Valid driving licence

Deine Aufgaben

  • Coordinate a team of experts for subdetector protection systems
  • Ensure coherence with the Central Detector Safety System
  • Lead reviews of safety system logic and action matrices
  • Develop and implement sensors for environmental control
  • Finalize custom control and readout electronics systems
  • Integrate control systems with PLC systems
  • Create software for safe PLC operation within the CMS Safety System
  • Implement alarming systems and automatic actions using Siemens software
  • Organize procurement of parts for upgrade subdetector protection systems
  • Allocate technical resources and set priorities for projects
  • Support subdetector teams during safety systems commissioning
  • Supervise CERN graduates, students, and interns
