**Area of Responsibilities:**
* Assistant and Deputy to Director of Industrial Relations Child Safety in all regulatory affairs relating to child restraint systems
* To keep abreast of all regulatory, scientific and commercial developments with respect to child restraint systems in vehicles
* To provide support and briefings for CYBEX Child Safety development teams to ensure new products under development are future-proofed against potential regulatory changes
* To represent CYBEX views at meetings of industry, standardisation and regulatory bodies and to influence the work of these groups as appropriate
* To lead or commission research to support and develop the evidence-base for decision-making at regulatory working groups and standardisation committees
* To disseminate CYBEX research at international conferences and similar forums with clear and assertive presentations
**Profile of Qualification:**
* Educated to degree level in engineering, statistics or a similar discipline
* At least three years relevant regulatory and/or scientific experience in a vehicle safety environment with knowledge of occupant biomechanics, injury prevention and restraint systems
* Effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal, and in a variety of situations
* Demonstrable report-writing and presentation skills for regulatory and/or scientific audiences
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form working relationships with people from different backgrounds
* Knowledgeable of research methods and techniques with experience of designing small to medium scale projects that deliver high-quality results with methodological rigour
* Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and assess their implications: specific experience of biomechanical analyses of crash test dummy, human body model and/or real-world collision data highly desirable
* Flexibility, willingness to learn and adapt to different circumstances and environments
* Willingness to travel, both in Germany and internationally, to attend meetings and conferences
* Fluent in English, German an advantage
