Anforderungen

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related fields
  • Formal qualification in networking (CCNA, CCDP, CCNP, WSCTA or equivalent)
  • Qualification in network security and/or ethical hacking
  • Solid understanding of Ethernet switching and routing (L2/L3), VLANs, STP, PoE, QoS, multicast
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), RF fundamentals, and wireless security
  • Familiarity with network management platforms, cloud-managed networking, and SDN concepts
  • Basic understanding of electronic design techniques and electronics production
  • 3–5+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Owner, or Engineering role within networking/IT infrastructure
  • Experience setting up office LAN/WAN end-to-end, including security considerations
  • Extensive experience configuring and managing network devices from multiple vendors
  • Experience in the configuration of Wi-Fi access points/client bridges, Ethernet switches and routers
  • Experience working in a Linux environment; knowledge of Linux OpenWRT distribution is advantageous
  • Experience of network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Wireshark)
  • Design specification experience for Hardware products
  • Experience working in the Railway industry
  • Knowledge about Railway Standard
  • Knowledge and experience working with standards for vehicular communication (CAN, IBIS, MVB)
  • Experience with RF designs
  • Experience working with Atlassian JIRA
  • Good English language skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Travel required occasionally
  • Strong engineering mindset
  • Good problem-solving capabilities with a methodical repeatable approach
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload using own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to provide knowledge to the wider team
  • Adherence to existing work processes and ISO9001 quality standards
  • Strong team ethos to support quality solutions delivery

Deine Aufgaben

  • Define and manage the product vision and strategy
  • Collaborate on the HW strategy aligned with the 3-year roadmap
  • Draft technical specifications for new and replacement hardware
  • Monitor market trends and competitor product roadmaps
  • Gather input from customers and sales teams for roadmap planning
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog
  • Provide technical support for supplier selection and evaluation
  • Ensure products meet compliance standards with the Head of Rail Engineering Compliance
  • Conduct detailed inspections of initial production samples
  • Document all testing procedures, results, and FAI reports
  • Develop test plans for hardware products
  • Plan and execute functional, performance, and stress tests
  • Review roadmap and test results with the Head of On-Train Systems
  • Present new solutions to Bid and Sales teams
  • Support tender requirements and validate solution designs
  • Gather integration information from the development team
  • Plan HW and FW testing with the Hardware Integration team
  • Review certification and regulation updates with QHSE teams
  • Support design of complex architectures with engineering and Dev Ops teams
  • Exchange information on third-party products with the Procurement team
  • Interact with OEM suppliers during product onboarding
  • Obtain feedback on performance from Service and Engineering teams
  • Stay updated on industry trends and standards
