Requirements
- Advanced university degree in law, specialization in labour law, European or Public International Law
- Fluent English with proven drafting ability
- Fluent French (strong asset)
- Extensive experience in international civil service law, data protection, law of International Organisations
- Excellent legal drafting skills, ability to draft legal opinions and documentation
- Strong resilience, flexibility, diplomacy
- Ability to prioritise heavy workload
- Strong interpersonal and team-working skills
- Ability to communicate with many organisational interfaces
- Experience using information technology and office software systems
- National of EUMETSAT Member States
Tasks
- Provide legal advice on international civil service law
- Advise on human resources matters
- Offer legal guidance on institutional law
- Manage complaints and appeals before the EUMETSAT Appeals Board
- Handle complaints and appeals before other judicial institutions
- Coordinate with external civil service law advisors
- Prepare submissions for judicial and other proceedings
- Participate in internal enquiries into allegations of wrongdoing
- Prepare reports on internal enquiries
- Advise on data protection in Human Resources
- Support the Data Protection Officer
- Coordinate external legal studies
- Draft and amend EUMETSAT legal documents
- Deliver legal advice on all EUMETSAT activities
- Draft agreements with international partners
- Support negotiations of agreements with international partners
- Represent EUMETSAT in relevant committees and bodies
- Attend meetings of the Coordinated Organisations
- Prepare documents on legal matters for EUMETSAT Delegate Bodies
- Present legal documents to EUMETSAT Delegate Bodies
