Tasks
- Perform military tactical aircraft maintenance
- Install and adjust fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission systems
- Align fuselage parts and install tail rotor assemblies
- Rig complete flight control systems
- Incorporate authorized modifications and changes
- Conduct operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems
- Inspect and troubleshoot malfunctions
- Disassemble components to identify issues
- Adjust, repair, realign, or replace defective parts
- Direct lower-graded mechanics in assembly and modification tasks
- Coordinate with electrical, avionics, and sheet metal trades
- Assemble various system assemblies and sub-assemblies
- Use common hand tools and measuring devices effectively
- Troubleshoot faulty systems and determine repair needs
- Inspect aeronautical maintenance performed by Mechanic I and II
- Repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, and power train systems
- Utilize aircraft unique tools for maintenance tasks
- Make entries in aircraft logbooks and military technical publications
- Determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems
- Read and interpret technical data
