Requirements
- •Engineering degree and broad interest in science
- •Experience as patent attorney or engineer
- •Experience representing clients before the EPO
- •Attention to detail and strategic thinking
- •Highly developed English communication skills
- •Technical experience in medical devices
- •Experience with IPFolio case management tool
- •Experience in cross-cultural teams
- •Knowledge of international patenting laws
- •Knowledge of German or Mandarin

- •Partner with cross-functional growth, technology, and legal teams
- •Draft and prosecute patent applications with outside counsel
- •Ensure freedom to operate alongside the Taiwan-based FTO team
- •Negotiate and advise on customer and partner agreements
- •Conduct licensing and portfolio reviews
- •Assist with invention harvesting and prepare new patent applications
- •Manage patent prosecution and respond to EPO office actions
- •Provide guidance to non-EPO associates on international office actions
- •Manage a case portfolio and prosecution deadlines autonomously
- •Collaborate effectively within the global IP team
- •Assess and clear FTO risks for products and projects
- •Facilitate communication with relevant stakeholders regarding FTO risks
- •Prepare third-party oppositions and observations
- •Support IP enforcement, conflicts, and litigation strategy
- •Gather evidence and develop claim charts for legal positions
- •Perform risk assessments and track litigation deadlines
