Tasks
- Advise on security policies and procedures
- Lead Field Security Section in Geneva
- Provide technical oversight to field security personnel
- Support senior management on security matters
- Conduct situational and contextual analysis
- Assist in contingency and operational planning
- Support critical incident management
- Ensure appropriate security workforce
- Maintain security policy and governance
- Reflect UNHCR priorities in interagency policies
- Collaborate with field operations and regional bureaux
- Work with headquarters divisions and services
- Engage with external stakeholders
- Strengthen security culture through advice
- Monitor global security risk management
- Raise security issues to senior management
- Maintain awareness of global security staffing
- Work with DPM on HR-related matters
- Strengthen professional standards of security workforce
- Align security training with global needs
- Institute oversight of security processes
- Represent UNHCR in interagency forums
- Engage with UN agencies and partners
- Support security incident management
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Undertake or delegate field missions
- Provide guidance on civil-military coordination
- Lead risk assessments and discussions
- Integrate risk management in decision-making
- Allocate resources for risk treatments
- Manage risks to acceptable levels
- Escalate risks as needed
- Designate Risk Focal Point
- Certify annual risk review completion
- Update risk register as needed
- Perform other related duties
