## Job Description
The Deep Learning Team builds the tooling to create deep learning models for TOMRA’s sensor-based sorting and analysis systems. This includes data organization and processing, as well as tools and infrastructure to train and deploy deep learning models, screening scientific deep learning improvements, and realization of improvements for industrial sorting systems. Other internal teams will use these tools to create deep learning models to solve real-world sorting problems.
We are looking for a working student to support the Deep Learning Team in building our Deep Learning Platform. This will include:
* Building and maintaining tooling to improve the Deep Learning Platform
* Maintain and evolve the inference service used on our platform
* Prototype new services
* Support in maintenance and development of our infrastructure
* This is not a data science position
* This is a hybrid position — we value in-person collaboration and are looking for someone who can join us at our Mülheim-Kärlich office regularly
## Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Computer Science, or a related field
* Solid programming skills in Python and knowledge of Linux
* Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English is required.
* Good understanding of network infrastructure
* Proven track record of personal projects, GitHub repositories, certifications
* Good knowledge of containerization, especially Docker
* Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus
* Familiarity with version control tools (Git, GitHub, or GitLab)
* Self-motivated, disciplined, and strong problem-solving skills
* Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting
