# Working student: Modelling and control design of an evaporation system
At Applied Materials in Alzenau, around 200 creative minds are working in an interdisciplinary manner on display technologies of the future. Using the latest methods, tools and innovative technologies, we develop competitive solutions for the display industry.
## What you do with us
As part of a development project, a concept for a model-based controlled physical process is to be developed. The basis for the control is a non-linear MPC with open source frameworks like CasADi.
* Identification and modelling of the relevant machine components and systems
* Measurement of the system for parameter identification
* Research and development of a suitable control concept
* Model-based control design and realization in code
* Experimental validation on the test system
##
## What you bring with you
* You are studying engineering, automation technology or similar
* Knowledge of programming in preferably Python or MATLAB/Simulink
* Ideally experience in physical modelling
* Basic knowledge of thermodynamics is a plus
* Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
* Confident written and spoken English skills
##
## What you can expect
* Gaining experience in the automation of physical processes and measuring systems: e.g. evaporation, high vacuum systems, quartz crystal microbalances
* Clearly defined tasks and close supervision
* Work on a current business-relevant project
