# Working Student (m/f/*) Modeling & Simulation R&D

**Job Description:**

As a **working student** in our R&D area in Neuss, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
* *Conducting simulations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to solve problems for real world applications.*
* *Using simulations for internal purposes such as product development and driving internal development regarding FEA.*
* *Evaluating experimental data to support generation of material data cards.*
**Your Skills and Expertise**
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
* *You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computational mechanics, mechanical engineering, civil engineering or similar.*
* *Background in applied mechanics such as material characterization and modeling.*
* *Expertise in the field of Finite Element Analysis, ideally experience with commercial FE software such as Abaqus.*
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
* *Experience with experimental testing for material characterization (preferably with Zwick testing machines)*
* *Programming skills (Python or Matlab)*
* *Experience with behaviour of adhesives or polymers in general*
**Job specifics:**
* Flexible work conditions (On-site and Remote in our headquarter in Neuss)
* 10 to 20 hours per week; Full time during the semester break
