Working Student Metaverse for AI-Development

Germany, Aachen | Part time

PURPOSE & SCOPE:

The candidate will actively contribute as a student trainee to our production digitalization projects, focusing on AI deployment for visual end-of-line testing. Responsibilities include driving the development of digital twins to automate the creation of virtual images of our PM products and potential manufacturing defects. This initiative will streamline the generation of labeled training data for AI models used in visual inspection. The role will also involve leading automation efforts in various innovation projects, utilizing simulation tools to optimize outcomes. A strong commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused solutions is essential, along with adherence to Johnson Electric’s Environmental, Health & Safety, Quality, and Human Resources policies. Maintaining safe and efficient work practices is crucial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and refine processes for generating virtual images to train AI models for visual inspection.

  • Lead the creation of digital twins to simulate PM products and manufacturing errors for training data generation.

  • Engage in continuous learning by conducting literature reviews and staying informed about advancements in AI and simulation technologies.

  • Create technical documentation and reports on project progress and insights.

  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a safe, efficient manner.

  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and self-responsibility.

  • Collaborate across teams to contribute to shared success.

  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Education and/or Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a technical program in engineering, computer science, or related fields

  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with a keen interest in new technologies

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Hands-on mentality, able to drive tasks independently

Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD software, AI, or programming is a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Language Skills:

  • Proficient in German and English (both spoken and written)
