# Werkstudent Management Reporting, Planning and Analysis **Heidelberg** | **Full time** **Job Title:** Werkstudent Management Reporting, Planning and Analysis – Direct & Operational Cost Controlling **Location:** Berlin **About the Role** The Functional Controlling Center of Excellence aims to provide exceptional in-depth business analysis and insight to partners across the business. We support the finance business partners with the closing-, budget- and forecasting process, review, and report on investment projects, drive the driver-based analysis and provide expertise in the area of specialist financial analysis. As a central part of the Management Reporting, Planning and Analysis team we additionally drive continuous improvement of all related processes. The team consists of 20+ colleagues working from 10 different locations. The purpose of this role is to support the month end, and forecast/budget processes, as well as the related follow up analyses around direct and operational costs. This role can be in our Heidelberg office on a hybrid working model. **Role Responsibilities** Local general ledgers: * Review P&L accounts in SAP at month end on completeness for all Research entities * Define and organize accruals and prepayments * Review correctness of products and cost centers used * Review outstanding provisions and accruals and advise on releases Consolidated ledger: * Review consolidated Hyperion positions and advise on additional entries * Compare actual numbers to Budget, Forecast and prior year and provide analyses on defined accounts * Provide monthly commentary in HFM and quarterly commentaries in business reports ​ Ad hoc: * Prepare ad hoc analyses at the request of Financial Business Partners or other stakeholders * Support the budget and forecast processes by providing analyses, documentation, and Anaplan system support * Interact with MRPA Teams (Financial Business Partners / Functional Controlling / Management Reporting) and Business **Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience** * Working towards Degree in Finance or related field and/or comparable qualification * Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a complex, changing environment to deliver value-added results to the organization * Depth and breadth of technical finance knowledge * Demonstrated ability of SAP finance/controlling system environment as well as excellent Excel and Analysis for Office skills * Fluent in English (written and spoken) * Strong analytical skills * Ability to communicate effectively At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
