# Wüstenrot Stiftung – Visiting Professorship ## Aufgaben The KIT- Department of Architecture, part of the Division "Natural and Built Environment" of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), is inviting applications for a Visiting Professorship in Architecture on the topic of "Dealing with the existing building stock in rural areas " up from the winter term 2025/26 to the summer term 2027. This visiting professorship is to be awarded to young academics or experts from the discipline of architecture in order to provide an opportunity to begin or expand a career path within the academic system. The professorship is to be awarded for one semester. We seek architects or young academics from the discipline of architecture who bring current issues concerning the handling of the existing building stock into courses of the master's program in architecture as case studies. Courses offered in English are welcome. In particular, this involves introducing content that complements the department´s existing range of courses with relevant and responsible contributions addressing major social challenges for building in the present and future with a specific focus on the existing building stock in rural areas. Particularly against the backdrop of climate change and the indispensable need to conserve resources, the question of how to deal with the building stock as a whole is becoming more fundamental and urgent than it was just a few years ago. This is particularly important in order to strengthen the identity and architectural quality in rural areas. ## Anforderungen We seek a personality for the visiting professorship who can demonstrate his or her outstanding professional competence as an expert / junior academic in the field of architecture and who is able to contribute current socially relevant practice-oriented and research topics on the topic of "Dealing with the existing building stock in rural areas" in design courses with 12 ECTS incl. design consolidation with 2 ECTS (e.g. accompanying seminar) at the master's level. ## Weitere Informationen ##### Contract duration 1 semester each, in the period from winter semester 2025/26 - summer semester 2027 (contract duration 5 months each) ##### Contact person in line-management For enquiries regarding this specific position please contact Dr.-Ing.
