Then join our accomplished team! ## ## Setting: The University of Vienna seeks to fill a position of University Assistant (prae doc), for a period of 4 years, focusing on process mining. The selected prae doc will become part of the Research Group Workflow Systems and Technology (WST) at the Faculty of Computer Science and will work towards obtaining a doctorate degree (PhD) under the supervision of Prof. Han van der Aa. The position is to be filled as soon as possible. The WST research group focuses on research in process mining, which revolves around the data-driven analysis of organizational processes. You will have the opportunity to set your own research agenda, publish your work at leading international conferences, and exchange ideas with international and interdisciplinary collaboration partners. The Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Vienna has world-leading researchers in Computer Science who pursue basic as well as applied research. The selected praedoc will also become part of the UniVie Doctoral School Computer Science (DoCS), which builds an essential framework to foster excellence in research and teaching. The appointment is for 4 years, whereby the employment contract is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months. ## ## Your future tasks: You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means that you: * are involved in process mining research * will work on your doctoral dissertation and its completion * will contribute to the teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement * will supervise students in bachelor and master projects * will contribute to the administration and other operational aspects of the group's scientific and educational activities ## ## Your profile: * Master's degree in Computer Science, (Business) Information Systems, Data Science, or an equvalent qualification with excellent grades * An excellent command of English (spoken and written) * A strong interest to work in process mining (experience is preferred but not required) * Good programming skills, preferably in Python * Strong ability to work in teams * Perseverance and ability to get things done * A high motivation to excel in your work **Desirable qualifications are** * Knowledge of process mining * Experience with process modeling (Petri nets, BPMN, etc.) * Experience with relevant programming libraries such as Py4PM * Research or teaching experience, e.g., as a student assistant ## ## What we offer: **Work-life balance:** Our employees enjoy flexible working hours and can partially work remotely. **Inspiring working atmosphere:** You are a part of an international academic team in a healthy and fair working environment. **Good public transport connections:** Your workplace is easily accessible by public transport. **Internal further training & Coaching:** Opportunity to deepen your skills on an ongoing basis.
