You guide the integration area by engineering best practices. Sitting in the Middleware leadership team, your key responsibilities are **Technical Strategy & Architecture** for middleware * Define the technical vision and architecture for the middleware platform, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategy. * Establish best practices for API design, messaging, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns. * Ensure the platform is highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant, supporting the demands of energy trading. * Lead the adoption of cloud-native and DevOps approaches, optimizing middleware performance and deployment efficiency. **Platform Engineering & Development Leadership** * Guide engineering teams in implementing high-quality middleware solutions, providing hands-on technical leadership where needed. * Define and enforce coding standards, security guidelines, and operational best practices. * Ensure observability, monitoring, and alerting are embedded into the platform for proactive issue resolution. * Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, ensuring continuous platform evolution. **Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement** * Work closely with the Product Owner to translate business requirements into technical deliverables. * Engage with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration across IT landscapes. * Advocate for middleware best practices, coaching teams on modern integration approaches. **Governance & Continuous Improvement** * Define and monitor key technical KPIs, including performance, availability, and security metrics. * Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and operational resilience requirements. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering automation, standardization, and self-service enablement. **Your profile** * Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Middleware Architect or Senior Integration Engineer. * Deep expertise in middleware technologies, including APIs, event streaming and messaging (Kafka, MQ, AMQP) and event driven architectures. * Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker). * Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for high-performance, mission-critical systems. * Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform etc). * Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and best practices. * Very good inter-personal and verbal/written English communication skills. * Collaborative attitude and good moderation skills. * Enthusiastic to steer, train and upskill internal and external staff. **Your benefits** At Uniper, we not only reward our employees with attractive salaries, an excellent company pension and health related benefits for their hard work and dedication to shaping the future energy transition.
