# Thesis "Sustainable Production of Perovskite Solar Cells"
As part of the master's thesis, the aim is to investigate how high-efficiency perovskite thin-film solar cells can be produced in a scalable manner while considering sustainability aspects and reducing critical materials. We offer you the opportunity to contribute to innovative research aimed at improving the scalability and stability of perovskite solar cells—a key technology in the sustainable energy world. You will collaborate with a versatile, international team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of photovoltaic research.
For our team "Perovskite Thin-Film Photovoltaics," we are looking for a student assistant as soon as possible, with the opportunity to write a master's thesis.
**What you will do**
* Your main task is the production and investigation of perovskite solar cells with different absorber compositions and their processing from green solvents.
* You will analyze the effects of composition on the crystallization of the perovskite and the absorber quality using optical and crystallographic methods, such as photoluminescence measurement and X-ray diffraction.
* With suitable perovskite layers, you will produce complete perovskite solar cells, which you will characterize using optoelectronic methods, such as current-voltage measurements and spectral response measurements.
* Through accelerated aging tests, you will assess the stability of the solar cells and correlate your results with the properties of the absorber layers.
* You will interpret your measurement results in an understandable way, summarize them clearly, and draw conclusions for your next experiments.
* Throughout your work, you will present your results in internal meetings and engage in scientific exchanges with national and international project partners.
**What you bring to the table**
* You are studying physics, chemistry, materials science, or a comparable field.
* You possess strong analytical thinking skills and have a knack for experimental laboratory work.
* You approach your tasks in a structured and conscientious manner and are motivated to critically question your results.
* It is important to you to contribute to your team, but you also plan and complete tasks independently and with high quality.
* You have very good English language skills.
**What you can expect**
* **Exclusive Insight:** In collaboration with the scientists of our unit, you will gain insight into the daily life of research and development at a research institute.
* **Laboratory Infrastructure:** At Fraunhofer ISE, we work with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, allowing research projects to be conducted at the cutting edge of technology.
* **Research Mix:** You will have the opportunity to combine experimental work with theory, applying and expanding your knowledge from your studies.
* **Supervision:** You will be supported by scientists during your work and receive feedback on your progress.
* **Teamwork:** Through interaction with scientific and student employees, you will gain experience in teamwork and can contribute your previous experiences.
* **Working Hours and Location:** We offer you the possibility to flexibly adjust your working hours to your needs in consultation and occasionally work from home.
* **Equal Opportunities:** We value equal opportunities and provide space for diversity.
* **After Work:** Celebrate yourself and your colleagues at after-work events or our annual employee parties.
In addition to the thesis, a contract as a research assistant will be agreed upon. Remuneration for this position is based on the level of university education attained.
We value and promote the diversity of our employees' skills and therefore welcome all applications—regardless of age, gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion, worldview, disability, as well as sexual orientation and identity. Severely disabled persons will be given preference if equally qualified.
