# Tenure-Track Professorship in Operations Research
## The position
The position:
We welcome applications from outstanding candidates with expertise in Operations Research, Management Science and Business Analytics with a focus on fundamental research in combinatorial and stochastic optimization for business applications. In teaching, the applicant will be involved, inter alia, in the education of fundamentals in mathematics in all study programs of the faculty, esp. in the Master program Business Analytics.
The Tenure Track Professorship in Operations Research will be part of the Department of Business Decisions and Analytics. It will primarily contribute to advancing methodological research in operations research, thereby complementing the department’s existing strengths in prescriptive business analytics, supply chain management, and production and logistics with dedicated methodological expertise. Although formally based in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics, the tenure track professorship may engage in close collaboration with researchers at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research. This interdisciplinary cooperation reflects the strong quantitative-analytical orientation of research within the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics at the University of Vienna. The position also offers opportunities for active involvement in the Oskar-Morgenstern-Doctoral School, providing an excellent environment for doctoral education and research.

We expect the successful candidate to acquire, within three years, proficiency in German sufficient for teaching in bachelor's programmes and for participation in university committees.
