# Student assistant: FEM Simulation and Programming
At the Fraunhofer IPT in Aachen, we work with more than 530 employees every day to make the production of the future more digital, more flexible, and more sustainable. We, the »advanced forming« group of the »Glass and Precision Manufacturing« department, are looking for motivated student assistants involved in highly innovative research projects. Your main tasks consist of FEM simulation and Python programming, allowing you to broaden your research experience besides your studies. Furthermore, you will collaborate with a highly experienced research team with interdisciplinary backgrounds.

**What you will do**
* Support the team to improve the accuracy of the FEM simulation model
* Post-processing the simulation results in Python
* Data analysis and visualization
* Numerical modeling and programming for model optimization & machine-learning
**What you bring to the table**
* You are studying Simulation Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering or a comparable subject
* Good programming skills e.g. in Python or Fortran are advantageous
* Initial experience in FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation tools e.g. ABAQUS or ANSYS
* Good analytical skills and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary project work
* Initiative, excellent communication skills and a passion for teamwork
