Sr. Field Application Engineer(m/w/x)

# Title:  Sr. Field Application Engineer (m/w/d) For our Sales Team in Germany we are looking for a **Sr. Field Application Engineer** **(m/f/d)** ideally at one of our three sites in Germany **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * FAE will support the adoption of Advanced Energy power conversion solutions at our customers at all stages of the engagement process from presales activity to postproduction/installation support * FAE will provide technical proposals and specification reviews for both standard and modified/custom designed products * Further FAE support comes in many forms:  AE solution recommendations, system architecture guidance, schematic review, on-site customer qualification & debug support, etc.... * FAE will establish and maintain technical relationships with customers and distributors, striving to be considered a trusted advisor for Power conversion solutions * Through developing engineering relationships with our customers, the FAE will identify and communicate technical requirements for new applications or customer needs that aren’t served by the current portfolio to the Advanced Energy product development. FAE input is critical in definition of new products and roadmap * As a trusted customer advocate, FAE's must have the confidence and persuasive skills to earn the respect of engineering leaders both internally and with the customer * The FAE’s technical perspective heavily influences the sales strategy * FAEs regularly provide technology updates and product training to customers, sales, and distribution **EXPERIENCE  / SKILLS:** Essential: * Technical education at 5 - 8 years in electronic engineering, and/or demonstrated industry experience * Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in related fields desirable * Relevant professional experience in related engineering field such as AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion solutions * Experience in a customer-facing role, such as field applications or business development, with direct customer interaction * Ability to work independently in a flexible and challenging environment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, across teams and with customers * Ability to present technical proposals, provide product trainings, and present at industry relevant public conferences * Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering and technical product issues using sound judgment We welcome: * Working knowledge of high tech industrial and medical market segments * Experience with IP, serial, and analog/digital based communications protocols and interfaces (e.g. PMBus, ModBus etc.) * Highly proficient in spoken and written English (C1) and good German language skills (B2) **WORK ENVIRONMENT** * Domestic & International travel in EMEA is required; approximately 50% should be expected at a minimum * A company car is provided for business travel and private use * Competitive package of benefits and compensation The workplace should be in a local AE office in Germany (Metzingen, Raunheim, Belecke) or can be in the home office if necessary. **WE OFFER YOU:** A global environment in an innovative, electrotechnical high-tech company with challenging and varied tasks with performance-related remuneration, good work-life balance through flexible working time models, very good office equipment; direct IT connection as well as an attractive health promotion offer.
