(Senior) Software Engineer

Your mission

As Software Engineer you will be involved in developing several stages of a ​quantum computer. In close collaboration with the hardware team you will design and develop control software that can be deployed to multiple quantum computers, software to simulate a quantum computer on different levels of detail, build deployment pipelines ​for cloud services, or be part of an algorithms project to optimize complex simulations.

Key responsibilities**:**

  • Develop and code new features and tests to enhance projects

  • Document code consistently during development

  • Share knowledge and collaborate effectively within the team

  • Automate testing in CI/CD pipelines

  • Continuously learn about new technologies and the workings of quantum computers

Your profile

Necessary requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in professional software engineering

  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, Rust, C, C++).

  • Eager to learn new technologies

  • Identify as a team player

  • Fluent in English

​The software stack of a quantum computer is very versatile and includes ​everything from hardware near programming to cloud deployment of components. This leads to a broad skill set that ​can be applied at planqc.

Supplementary skills:

  • Background in (quantum)physics or interest in physics

  • Cloud deployments with Docker/Helm/Terraform/Kubernetes

  • FPGA programming

  • CI/CD with GitLab

  • Worked in an agile setting (Scrum)
