Software Architect & Technical Lead – Embedded Linux Systems

Job Description

You will be the main point of contact for our proprietary operating system based on Embedded Linux, both in our project and in day-to-day operations. You will create a unified architecture and roll out the system across our new devices, taking into account regulatory and security requirements and ensuring long-term stability in different customer environments. You will also provide technical leadership to an agile team of developers and work closely with your team members to implement all requirements.

• You will regularly engage with key stakeholders from hardware, firmware, and software and keep our software development teams informed.

• In addition, you will turn your ideas into a roadmap, which you will document clearly and comprehensively.

• You will customize our operating system for different devices, while maintaining system uniformity and scalability.

• As a member of our Architecture Board, you will contribute your vision for the development of our Software Platform.

• You will make adjustments to our Yocto-based operating system, regularly review Yocto updates and apply patches where necessary. You will also review the licenses and potential security vulnerabilities of the software components we use.

Qualifications

• You have a degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification, with several years of experience in software architecture and software development, ideally in C++.

• Experience of Embedded Linux would be essential;  knowledge of Yocto would be a big plus.

• In your role, you will work closely with important stakeholders. Therefore, excellent communication skills would be very helpful.

• You have a hands-on approach to your work and enjoy also being involved in the implementation of systems.

• An international environment is a real plus for you. You enjoy speaking English (at least on B2 level).
