**Duties and responsibilities**
* You will develop a platform for digital surgery combining sensors, imaging, navigation and robotics
* You will work in direct contact with surgical users and help to define technical and application requirements
* Based on these requirements, you will select the best fitting components for a new hardware platform under consideration of existing building blocks in the portfolio
* Your initial focus will be including but not limited to the development of concepts and prototypes for a new hardware platform for orthopedic surgery
* You will work in a scrum team collaborating with product owners, software architects, software developers, UX, mechanical, electronics and quality engineers
* You are open to work on all phases of product development from early concepts to implementation and Verification and Validation activities
* You will comply with medical device standards and have the responsibility of developing concepts that can be turned into medical devices
**Professional competencies**
* Master's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, systems engineering or similar engineering topic
* Initial experience with navigation systems
* Experience with orthopedic surgery
* Initial experience in contacts with clinical users would be beneficial
* Experience in requirements engineering
* Experience in establishing a technology market overview, selection of components based on specifications, quality, price and life cycle constraints
* Experience in selecting and describing system components like single-board computers (SBC), displays and interfaces
* Working experience in a regulated field (medical, aerospace, automotive)
* Knowledge in modelling system architectures with UML /Enterprise Architect (EA) would be a plus
