# Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) for Computer Assisted Orthopedic Surgery

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join our R&D team. As an integral member of our global Digital, Robotics, and Enabling Technologies (DRE) organization, you will play a key role in developing cutting-edge medical technology that transforms orthopedic surgery, with the goal to significantly improve patient outcomes.
**What You Will Do:**
* Design, develop, and enhance advanced software solutions for computer-assisted orthopedic surgery.
* Implement software frontend and backend components using C++/Qt and QML/JavaScript on a Linux-based platform.
* Integrate robotic technologies into clinical solutions, contributing to the next generation of orthopedic surgical systems.
* Analyze, understand, and improve codebase to increase performance, stability, and maintainability.
* Create solutions with real impact—directly contributing to improving surgical outcomes and saving lives.
* Tackle complex problems, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against both component- and system-level requirements.
* Use UML to document and communicate software architecture and design decisions effectively.
* Collaborate across divisions, combining technologies from surgical navigation and robotics.
* Gain deep insights into medical workflows by attending surgeries and working closely with our clinical marketing team.
**What are we looking for?**
**Required:**
* You have an advanced degree in computer science, software engineering, medical technology, mathematics, electrical engineering or comparable.
* Solid experience developing software using object-oriented programming, particularly with C++.
* Ability to transform SW requirements into robust design and implementation.
* You bring along a strong drive for Medical Device Engineering.
* Your high degree of adaptability and flexibility makes it easy for you to integrate into an existing team and to operate in a complex international environment.
* A very good command of English and ideally good written and spoken German round off your profile.
**Preferred:**
* 2-3 + years of experience with C++ in combination with the Qt framework for developing software applications.
