# A Day in the Life
Medtronic is hiring a Senior Market Development Specialist for Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) to lead strategic initiatives across international markets aimed at expanding access and accelerating adoption of this life-changing therapy for patients living with chronic pain.
This is a highly visible and cross-functional role where you will shape the growth trajectory of one of Medtronic’s key neuromodulation therapies in international markets
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
* Own the regional market development strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Operating Unit objectives and therapy priorities, collaborate with country teams in Western Europe, Japan, China, and Australia to localize and implement the strategy based on regional market dynamics, as well as apply internal methodologies (e.g., PAA) to assess barriers to patient access and therapy adoption.
* Map and analyze the patient care pathway from symptom onset to intervention and follow-up, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement, identify and address structural, behavioral, and cultural barriers to adoption across healthcare systems.
* Develop and execute initiatives to increase referral volume, improve therapy readiness, and reduce drop-off points along the care continuum.
* Champion the voice of the patient and stakeholder insights to inform strategy and communication approaches
* Create content and campaigns tailored to various stakeholders in partnership with global communications and multichannel marketing teams.
* Collaborate with clinical experts, KOLs, non-implanting specialists, and medical societies to influence clinical guidance and increase awareness, align with cross-functional teams including health economics, clinical, regulatory, and reimbursement to support market access initiatives.
* Serve as the regional subject matter expert on referral market development dynamics, while also tracking progress against defined KPIs to inform ongoing investment and strategic prioritization.
**Required knowledge and experience**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Marketing, or Business.
* 5 – 7 years of experience in healthcare marketing, business or market development, ideally within medical devices, neuromodulation, or pain therapies, with a demonstrated success in driving therapy adoption and market expansion, particularly in international or emerging markets.
* In-depth knowledge of neuromodulation or spinal cord stimulation therapies preferred; familiarity with referral pathways and reimbursement landscapes across key global markets is a strong asset.
* Proven ability to assess market opportunities, identify adoption barriers, and develop go-to-market strategies with experience leading or supporting educational initiatives, referral mapping, or awareness programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams across geographies, including sales, clinical, regulatory, and upstream/downstream marketing.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize clinical, competitive, and market data into actionable insights.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills aimed at effective internal and external stakeholder engagement.
* Fluency in English; additional international languages are an advantage.
* Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%.
