# Senior Firmware Engineer

HID is seeking a talented and motivated Smart Card Engineer to join our team. As a Smart Card Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining smart card solutions that meet the highest standards of security and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products that power trusted identities around the world.
**As our Senior Firmware Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:**
* Designing and developing smart card solutions
* Collaborating with hardware and software teams to integrate smart card technology into HID Global products
* Conducting testing and validation of smart card solutions to ensure compliance with industry standards and security requirements
* Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to smart card technology
* Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in smart card technology and industry trends
* Providing technical support and guidance to internal teams and customers
* Documenting design specifications, test plans, and user manuals
**Your Experience and Background include:**
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
* Experience with smart card technology
* Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python
* Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and security protocols
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
* Experience with smart card operating systems (e.g., Java Card, MULTOS)
* Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO/IEC 7816, ISO/IEC 14443, NFC Forum and EMV
* Previous experience in a similar role within the identity management or security industry
