Senior Expert Indirect Procurement

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a seasoned and proficient Senior Expert Indirect Procurement to join our Supply Chain Switzerland Organisation. This newly established position will be responsible for developing and establishing the indirect procurement function for our new manufacturing site in Switzerland. The role encompasses day-to-day purchasing for indirect materials and managing responsibilities related to inbound systems and processes. The ideal candidate will possess SAP expertise in MM and BP, along with EWM, and will drive digitalization and efficiency across sourcing operations.
During the construction and ramp-up phases, a proactive, hands-on approach combined with a strong "can-do" attitude will be crucial for the successful onboarding and setting up of the indirect procurement function in Switzerland. The candidate will contribute to global process design and supply chain digitalization that enables plug & play integration with all types of suppliers. The role requires driving efficiencies to meet cost, service, inventory, and cycle time targets.
This role is instrumental in supporting the go-live of the Swiss manufacturing site and its needs for indirect production material purchases and processes. The selected candidate will collaborate with global functions such as procurement, logistics, quality, among others, with a strong emphasis on ensuring high levels of standardization.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Implement and execute the global procurement strategy ensuring alignment with SHL Medical AG’s global procurement function
* Manages site-level suppliers & purchase orders
* Lead the Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) processes, including supplier identification, bid analysis, and contract negotiation.
* Establish and maintain a preferred supplier base that aligns with company quality, cost, and compliance requirements.
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with suppliers to ensure advantageous terms for the business.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Quality, and Finance to identify and qualify new suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards in supplier selection and sourcing processes.
* Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs, mitigate risks, and foster long-term supplier partnerships.
* Establish and manage supplier performance metrics (KPIs) to promote continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery.
* Lead cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations and supplier consolidation.
* Conduct periodic supplier review meetings to evaluate performance, address challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Manage the lifecycle of orders for indirect materials and services to ensure timely execution and adherence to company policies.
* Prepare reports and analyses to assess procurement efficiency and compliance with purchasing policies.
* Act as a crucial link between procurement and other divisions to facilitate the collection of requirements and smooth issuance of purchase requisitions.
* Demonstrate a solid understanding of commercial procurement activities, including negotiation, supplier management, and market analysis.
* Persistently follow up on time-critical issues to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of procurement needs.
* Implement cost reduction initiatives and participate in the development of strategic procurement plans.
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of procurement data in SAP MM and SAP BP modules.
**Minimum Requirements**
* Minimum 10+ years of experience in procurement and/or supply chain with a strong focus on indirect procurement and systems & process optimization.
* Proven expertise in SAP.
* Experience in leading complex projects and cross-functional teams within an international environment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive cost, service, inventory, and cycle time improvements.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with fluency in English and German (additional languages are a plus).
* Language: Fluent in English
