# Senior Consultant Mainframe Modernization (m/f/d)

As a Senior Consultant Mainframe Modernisation at Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions.
Using design documentation and functional programming specifications, you will be responsible for implementing identified components. You will ensure that implemented components are appropriately documented, unit-tested, and ready for integration into the final product.
As a valued member of our team, you will provide work estimates for assigned development work, and guide features, functional objectives, or technologies being built for interested parties. Your contributions will have a significant impact on our products' success, and you will be part of a team that is passionate about innovation, creativity, and excellence.
You'll gather requirements from stakeholders and masterfully translate them into functional and nonfunctional specifications. As the driving force behind our customers' application modernization endeavors, you'll guide them through every step of the process, ensuring their systems are future-proofed and optimized for success.

**Who You Are**

Required Technical and Professional Skills:
* Minimum 10 years of experience
* Mainframe Technologies: Extensive experience with COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, DB2, IMS/DB, CICS, JCL, RACF, and z/OS.
* Linux Systems: Proficient in CentOS, RHEL, and Linux/390, including hardening, kernel tuning, and firewall/security configuration.
* Virtualization & Automation: Skilled in VMware ESXi, Ansible scripting for automated deployments, and system performance tuning.
* Database Expertise: Specialist in PostgreSQL tuning and DB2 environments.
* Security & Compliance: Strong background in RACF administration, security compliance tools (zSecure), and ACF2 to RACF migration.
* Programming & Scripting: Proficient in Assembler, REXX, NetREXX, and scripting for system automation and analysis tools.
* Native or business-fluent German and English is a must
