- •Degree in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or equivalent disciplines
- •Knowledge in realization of fiber preforms and related equipment
- •Knowledge and relevant professional experience in fiber drawing and basic knowledge in fiber lasers
- •Interest in conceptual questions and experimental work in the laboratory
- •Willingness to meet tough challenges independently
- •Interest in obtaining a doctor degree or post-doc studies
- •Willingness to be involved in defence-related projects

Deine Aufgaben
- •Develop and optimize processes for fiber preforms using MCVD technology
- •Investigate gas-phase and solution-doping techniques for active fibers
- •Create and enhance fiber preforms for multi-clad and polarization-maintaining fibers
- •Optimize photonic crystal and bandgap fibers
- •Contribute to scientific investigations of fiber lasers
- •Evaluate different fiber laser architectures with a team of experts
- •Work independently on fiber preform research projects
- •Write reports and publications in English and, if possible, German
