## Your personal sphere of influence:
The advertised position is initially located at the Department of Education within the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. The position is assigned to the FWF project "A multiperspective study on German language support classes" (project duration 01/2022 - 12/2025) under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Susanne Schwab. The position is and is limited to the duration of the project (01/2022–12/2025). The position is to be filled as soon as possible at a rate of 20 to 30 hours/week and is limited to the remaining term of the project until the end of 2025. Additionally there is the possibility of further employment from January 1, 2026 for a period of 3 years in the approved follow-up project at the Center for Teacher Education. Applicants who are close to completing their master’s degree are welcome to apply and would initially be employed as student assistants (§48 VwGr. C.) until graduation, after which they would be employed as pre-doc university assistants. Due to the thematic focus of our research, we are particularly seeking multilingual individuals who are capable of conducting interviews in languages other than German and English (e.g., Arabic, Turkish, Romanian, Bulgarian, etc.), as well as transcribing and translating them. We are looking for individuals with initial professional experience and offer a diverse research project, collaboration with a motivated team, and opportunities for ongoing professional development at the University of Vienna.

## This is part of your personality:
* Completed humanities or social sciences degree at the master’s level (preferred fields: educational science, teacher education, sociology, psychology)
* Strong knowledge of qualitative research methods
* Work experience and references in the fields of educational science, school and migration research, German as a foreign/second language, or inclusion
* Interest in pursuing a subject-specific dissertation in the area of German language support classes
* Excellent reading, writing, and text comprehension skills in German and English (academic writing)
* Independent, responsible, and structured work style
* Strong organizational skills
* High affinity for data collection/analysis and writing academic texts in German and English
* Excellent communication skills with project partners within and outside the University, especially schools
**Desirable qualifications are:**
* Willingness to familiarize yourself with quantitative research methods
