## Purpose of the Job
Sales Director with accountability for leading a sales team in North America and Europe for promoting a $400m portfolio of alcohols, surfactants and intermediate products into Fabric, Home Care and Industrial & Institutional (FHC I&I) cleaning applications (excluding ‘big soapers’) as well as indirect responsibility for directing sales strategy to FHC I&I teams in developing markets.
ATTENTION: This position can be filled either in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain or the UK.
* Responsible for developing (in collaboration with Marketing) and implementing the sales strategy across FHC I&I to deliver short, medium, and long-term targets.
* Leads all sales activities in accountable region to deliver on business strategy and sales and financial targets in close cooperation with Marketing.
* Play key leadership role in global Care Chemicals management team.
* Identify key market trends and customers needs and lead projects to enable the continuous transformation of our product portfolio to meet those needs.
## Key Accountabilities
* Develop regional strategies for applications, customers and products and continuously explore and develop new opportunities to deliver segment related margin and volume targets.
* Continuous optimization of pricing, products, volume and customer portfolio to enable growth targets within segmentation guidelines.
* Manage all aspects of operational sales activities, including taking the lead in contract negotiations, budgeting, senior management engagements, channel design and managing functional collaboration activities (i.e. Technical, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing).
* Develop, implement and manage strategies for growth through distribution channels.
* Drive the technical collaboration and ensure that the necessary activities take place within the customers’ and Sasol's technical organization to ensure results are delivered.
* Take an active role in the Care Chemicals leadership team as well as R&D and other functional segments to enable the agreed sales strategy. Take the lead in all related sustainability initiatives for customer portfolio while closely cooperating with sustainability functions.
* Visibly lead, mentor, motivate and develop subordinates and indirect reports.
* Actively develop, manage and maintain zippering plans to ensure full alignment within Sasol organization for key accounts within portfolio.
* Engage with global Care Chemicals teams to continuously identify and update customer and market trends to ensure delivery on customer expectations.
* Represent Sasol at international events to enable promotion of strategy, technology and expertise.
## Formal Education
* Bachelors Degree (Chemistry or Engineering - wish)
