## Professor (m/f/d) for Business Analytics and Econometrics

##### Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a new colleague to join our faculty in Potsdam and Berlin on a full-time basis, starting in
October 2025.
**The opportunity:**
The purpose of this position is to contribute to the academic excellence and strategic development of Gisma University of Applied Sciences through high-quality teaching, impactful research, and active participation in the academic community. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and delivering innovative programmes in Business Analytics and Econometrics, with a focus on integrating practical, data-driven approaches into the curriculum. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with an international student body, collaborate with industry and research partners, and influence the evolution of data-centric education in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.
**Key Activities & Responsibilities:**
* Module responsibility and teaching of Gisma’s Bachelor and Master programmes, particularly in the fields of Business Analytics, Econometrics, and related areas, as well as examination, assessments, and student supervision.
* Active participation in programme development, quality assurance, and the integration of advanced analytics into the curriculum.
* Conception, creation, and adaptation of contemporary teaching and learning materials aligned with developments in data-driven finance and technology.
* Initiate, expand, and maintain cooperation with partners in industry and research, particularly in FinTech, financial modelling, and data analytics domains.
* Participation in national and international accreditation procedures, as needed.
* Active engagement in academic administration and committee work.
* Further development of a personal and institutional research profile in Business Analytics, Econometrics, or Data-Driven Finance, publication of results in high-quality journals, and engagement in public dissemination.
* Participation in outreach, including student recruitment events and promotion of data-oriented study tracks.
##### Your profile
For an appointment, you must fulfil all requirements according to Section 41 ff of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG). See the following link: §41 ff. BbgHG.
In addition, you demonstrate:
* Completed university studies in a relevant discipline such as Econometrics, Business Analytics, Statistics,Economics.
* Conception, creation, and adaptation of contemporary teaching and learning materials aligned with developments in business analytics, econometrics, and data-driven financial technologies.
* Proof of extraordinary qualification for scientific work in the form of an outstanding doctorate and/or a strong record of high-impact, peer-reviewed publications.
* A minimum of three years of qualified professional experience, including at least two years outside a university environment, gained after a master's degree or equivalent.
* Proven university-level teaching experience, with competence in blended, online, and interactive learning methodologies. Student evaluations should reflect excellent pedagogical aptitude.
* A strong affinity for digitalisation and data analytics in finance and economics.
* Fluency in English for teaching and research purposes; international academic or industry experience is highly valued.
* A publication record in fields such as applied econometrics, statistical learning, or financial analytics.
* Experience in developing and leading research projects, ideally with success in acquiring third-party funding.
* Innovative perspectives for advancing research and curriculum in Business Analytics and Econometrics.
* Experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes is an asset.
