Process Engineer for Spring Components
Job Location:

**Job Overview**
As a Process Engineer for Spring Components at our headquarters in Zug (CH), you are responsible for the effective development, implementation, and optimization of innovative spring manufacturing processes to safeguard a successful production ramp-up of our autoinjector production in Switzerland.
The objective of this role is to not only lead the commissioning and qualification activities of new spring production equipment but also to continuously ensure excellent spring quality and high equipment efficiency after validation and during the initial stage of production. By sustainably transferring your knowledge and expertise to production operators, you enable independent spring production beyond the ramp-up phase.
In addition to the operational focus, a key aspect of this position is to strategically optimize and standardize the spring production framework in SHL in accordance with industry standards and in collaboration with selected development partners and academic institutions.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Lead the development and implementation of novel spring manufacturing equipment and enable a smooth production ramp-up in our new factory in Zug.
* Support early system integration and testing activities in collaboration with SHL’s automation partners.
* Define and continuously improve the spring mass production setup in Switzerland.
* Own major initiatives to optimize and standardize operational processes locally and globally, incl. the setup and changeover processes for inline- and offline compression spring manufacturing.
* Manage technical aspects of SHL’s inline spring equipment, incl. systematic conduct of structured problem-solving, ad hoc troubleshooting, and implementation of technical upgrades.
* Introduce a skill-level certification concept and train newly hired operators to the required level.
* Continuously mentor and train local operators to develop state-of-the-art skills and achieve full independence.
* Drive research initiatives with selected education and industry partners in the fields of advanced materials, spring design principles (incl. software solutions), tool design, measurement, and test method development.
* Organize cross-departmental activities together with local and overseas stakeholders.
* Ensure cross-organizational communication and act as an activity coordinator where needed.
**Minimum Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
* 5+ years’ relevant experience in medical industry or strongly regulated industry
* Passionate about manufacturing, technology, and engineering.
* Proven experience and excellent level of expertise in the field of high-precision compression spring manufacturing incl. machine setup, fine-tuning, tool preparation, and other relevant skills.
* In-depth knowledge of industrialization and process development in regulated industries.
* Skilled in structured problem solving and logical thinking.
* High level of independence combined with a positive and curious attitude to thrive in a dynamic environment.
* Fluent in written and spoken German
* Solid in written and spoken English
