- •Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Geoecology, Biology, Biogeochemistry, Forestry, or related field
- •Knowledge of soil, plant, and fungal ecology
- •Experience in biogeochemical measurements, field sampling, and laboratory manipulation experiments
- •Driver's license Class B valid in Germany
- •Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English

- •Use root anatomy techniques to record chronological ages of fine roots
- •Evaluate root growth and biomass
- •Quantify chemical composition of fine roots
- •Gather radiocarbon measurements of soluble and structural carbon in roots
- •Analyze how long carbon from photosynthesis resides in trees before transferring to soil
- •Conduct a mesocosm study to measure tree responses to environmental changes
- •Evaluate changes in fungal mycelia production and root-associated fungal communities
- •Analyze soil physicochemical properties to assess organic carbon formation
