# Parenteral Packaging Development Engineer (m/f/d)

The Parental Packaging team in Schaftenau seeks your support in developing primary packaging containers, as well as syringe- and cartridge-based drug-device combination products. Collaborating with a team of interdisciplinary specialists, you will contribute to ensuring that our delivery systems are precisely aligned with the requirements of the drug product and meet the highest standards of customer expectations.
**Job Description**
**Your key responsibilities:**
* Actively participate in device and packaging development project teams as packaging technology representative. Lead and manage parenteral packaging development activities, especially for prefilled syringes.
* Apply technical expertise to address design, development and operational issues for the preparation and timely delivery of parenteral primary packaging / combination products, processes and procedures.
* Conduct technical assessments and ensure compliance in documentation for packaging components and systems functionality.
* Apply knowledge in the areas of materials (glass, polymers, rubbers, silicone/lubricants, sterile barrier systems, adhesives) and manufacturing (injection molding, glass converting, rubber molding, assembly, fill & finish and transport validation).
* Communicate, address and solve problems (e.g. deviations and unexpected results from experiments) within own and broader area of responsibility.
* Conduct feasibility assessments on new technology/ packaging concepts.
* Drive preparation of the function related documents for registration of medical device/ combination products and provide feedback to health authority questions.
* Contribute to the transfer of know-how or procedures to other departments or external contractors.
* Communicate effectively across organizational interfaces.
**Essential Requirements:**
* Master or PhD degree in Engineering, Material Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology or similar.
* 3+ years experience in a similar role, preferred in the field of primary packaging / medical device and combination product development or in pharmaceutical industry.
* A strong interest or the desire to learn the multidisciplinary area of medical devices and combination products.
* Collaborative spirit, self-driven attitude, high level of learning agility.
* Strong communication / negotiation skills, listening skills, the ability to actively reach out and the ability to understand and connect across functions.
* English proficiency. German knowledge will represent an advantage.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 64,023.24/year (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
