# National Sales Manager Virology
**Switzerland - Basel** | **Full time** | **Field-Based**
**Job Description**
As the National Sales Manager Virology, Switzerland you will be responsible for managing a group of Therapeutic Specialists in Virology. This is a field position, with regular travel in Switzerland and attending meetings in office in Zug. The National sales manager will report to the Business Unit Virology Director.
We are seeking a strategic and people-focused leader to drive commercial excellence and sales performance for the whole virology franchise Switzerland. This role blends coaching, cross-functional leadership, and operational execution to elevate team capabilities and deliver business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Coaching: Lead and develop a team of Therapeutic Specialists through individualized coaching, performance reviews, and continuous feedback. Act as a role model in applying the Selling Model and adopting innovative tools (CRM, AI, project management platforms).
• Training & Development: Design and implement learning plans, mentor team members, and ensure continuous upskilling in product knowledge, disease areas, and customer engagement. This includes the organization of training- and sales-meetings.
• Commercial Strategy & Execution: Set regional sales targets, manage budgets and resources, and ensure effective execution of brand and franchise strategies.
• Sales Force Excellence: Monitor KPIs and sales force effectiveness, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and optimal use of CRM and reporting systems.
• Drive key account planning: Cross-functional collaboration and execution in line with brand strategies. Build long-term partnerships with internal stakeholders and external Key Opinion Leaders.
• Market Insights & Reporting: Collect and analyze market intelligence to inform strategic decisions. Act as a communication bridge between the field and back-office, escalating opportunities and challenges.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with internal policies and external regulations, fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales leadership, with strong expertise in coaching, performance management, and team development.
• Deep understanding of the Swiss pharmaceutical landscape, including payer systems and regulatory environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships across diverse teams and cultures.
• Expertise in sales planning, objective setting, and execution of promotional strategies.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and digital tools; proactive in adopting new technologies to enhance team performance.
• Recognized ability to manage compliance in a highly regulated environment.
• Experience in scientific communication, including publications, medical education, and advocacy development.
• Fluent in German and French, with strong written and spoken English.
