## Job Description
**Your responsibilities**
Join the technical team of the Amplifiers & Couplers (AC) Section within the Radio Frequency (RF) Group at CERN!
As a Mechanical Technician, you will contribute to the mechanical development of projects using the CATIA CAD software (2D and 3D design). You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of components: design, procurement, project follow-up, preparation, and packaging.
You will also have the opportunity to receive training in various advanced techniques used in the field of superconducting cavities, including cryogenic testing, metal surface treatments, cleanroom work, ultra-high vacuum technology, high-precision mechanical assembly, and RF measurements. These technologies are implemented by the entire team, and you will gain valuable hands-on experience in each area under the supervision of experienced technicians and engineers.
As a technician, you will also contribute to quality documentation and be fully integrated into the R&D team, which includes engineers and students. This work is part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing the performance of current accelerators and paving the way for future high-energy machines. In this context, the Superconducting RF (SRF) section of the RF group defines the required cavity specifications and evaluates their performance (quality factor, maximum electromagnetic fields) using dedicated cryogenic test stands. A wide range of advanced technologies is employed in the SRF facilities.
**Your profile**
Skills:
* Proficient in CAD software (2D and 3D design);
* Strong team-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively;
* Highly motivated, dynamic, and solution-oriented;
* Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve;
* Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
Eligibility criteria:
* You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* **By the application deadline,** you have a **maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation** in Mechanics (or a related field) **and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma**.
* You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
* Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.
