## Job Description
**Your responsibilities**
Join the Geodetic Metrology group at CERN, where you will push the limits of accelerator alignment to shape the future of CERN accelerators! Participate in the development, qualification and installation of new high precision alignment methods with sensors based on advanced technologies and novel adjustment solutions!
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be integrated in the multi-disciplinary team of the Future Projects section, in charge of the research and development for the alignment of the Future Circular Collider (FCC). You will be responsible for the development (from the design to the qualification, including the manufacturing) of mechanical and mechatronics systems related to the alignment of accelerator components, such as supporting jacks, adjustment platforms, alignment sensors and their related infrastructure. You will be in charge of:
* The gathering of design requirements and preparation of functional specifications,
* The execution of design studies of mechanical or electro-mechanical components, assemblies, tooling, equipment integration and layout,
* The creation of detailed 3D models and technical drawings,
* The follow-up, in close collaboration with other teams, of the manufacturing, assembling, qualification of prototypes,
* The preparation and presentation of technical reports, calculations and engineering notes.

**Your profile**
Skills:
* Experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical design and manufacturing drawings.
* Experience with CAD software (preferably CATIA V5).
* Experience with FEM analysis (preferably ANSYS).
* Experience in the design, assembly and testing of mechatronics systems would be an asset.
* Strong team-oriented attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisiplinary environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, detailed documentation.
* Spoken and written English with a commitment to learn French.
Eligibility criteria:
* You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* **By the application deadline,** you have a **maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation** in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) **and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree**.
* You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
* Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
* Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
