**Master’s Thesis Title:**
**Feasibility Study on Crucible Production for Thermal Analysis**
## Job Description
We are searching for a motivated master’s student in the field of materials science or manufacturing technology, ideally from a technical university. The focus of this thesis is on producing crucibles for thermal analysis, taking into consideration its special requirements for best measurement results.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Characterization and definition on existing aluminum crucibles on the market from different OEM focusing on material, shape, micro contours, surface characteristics, wall thickness, tolerances, aluminum purity etc.
* Subsequently, define crucible geometries and tolerances to ensure repeatable and reliable DSC results compared to existing market options, proof of concept with state-of-the-art simulations
* Define and explain proper manufacturing processes that guarantee the production of a high number of crucibles with consistent quality
* Investigate capabilities of Anton Paar to implement process with existing machinery
* Set-up of a decision matrix to prepare a make or buy decision
**Research Deliverables:**
* List of crucible manufacturers worldwide
* Market overview on aluminum crucible types, their relevant specifics and differences to each other
* Definition of the best in class crucible for thermal analysis application
* Simulation model and results
* Overview on manufacturing processes to achieve reliable, repeatable and high-quality crucibles in high numbers
* Decision matrix to prepare a make or buy decision
## Qualifications
* Ongoing master’s studies in materials science, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
* Understanding of aluminum processing and simulation tools
* Ability to perform independent research and systematically evaluate technical and commercial feasibility
## Additional Information
The employment is based on a work contract. Successfully completing the master’s thesis will be rewarded with a one-time fee of €3.000.
