City: Straubing Date: Mar 27, 2025 # Master's Thesis: Electrochemical Reduction of Disulfides in Peptides (all genders) **What you will do** Your curiosity leads you to the Straubing branch of Fraunhofer IGB with its two departments "Bioinspired Chemistry" and "Sustainable Catalytic Processes." Here, you will accompany a practice-oriented research project commissioned by industry partners. * You will develop a method for the electrochemical reduction of disulfides in peptides as part of your master's thesis * You will prepare the required peptide mixtures through enzymatic hydrolysis of a natural substance * You will develop and optimize an electrochemical process to cleave the disulfides present in the peptides **What you bring to the table** * You are currently in a master's program in a technical or natural science field such as chemistry, biochemistry, or biotechnology * You already have practical laboratory experience * You convince with the development of your own research questions as well as new ideas and approaches for research. * Experience in electrochemistry is helpful; our experienced scientists will always be there to support you * You remain calm in difficult situations and are interested in the interdisciplinary working world of Fraunhofer **What you can expect** * Top research in a wide variety of pioneering flagship projects that advance society and the economy – and yourself * The opportunity to contribute your own ideas as part of a strong team and find solutions to pressing future questions * A tolerant environment with an open error culture and the assurance of getting support at any time. * State-of-the-art equipment * Cafeteria on campus with daily meal offerings We offer you an environment that gives you the opportunity to gain a broad spectrum of experience in a short period of time by working on interesting and varied industrial projects with our partners in various industries.
