# Master Thesis (d/f/m) within the field of Situational Awareness **Donauwörth** | **Full time** ****Job Description:**** In order to support Airbus Helicopters, we are looking for a Master student (d/f/m) to work on a thesis with subject “Development of computer vision algorithms for Helicopters Situational Awareness functions” You are looking for a master thesis assignment and want to get the practical experience of working in one of the World's leading aviation industry, then apply now! We look forward to onboard you in the Situational Awareness & Mission Management Team as a master student (d/f/m)! * Location: *Donauwörth* * Start: *As soon as possible* * Duration: *6 months* ## Your location At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield. Role During your thesis you will work together with System Engineers in close connection to various helicopter research and technology (R&T) projects. The goal of your thesis will be the evaluation of current state-of-the-art technology and how it will be applied in the scope of the department. The concrete definition of the thesis will be defined in close cooperation with the research advisor and can be aligned with personal interests and your academic curriculum. **Tasks and Responsibilities** The subject of the proposed M.Sc. assignment is the prototypical development of image-based, real-time detection algorithms that are capable of detecting objects in the direct vicinity of the Helicopter (e.g. persons, obstacles) or monitoring the state of the Helicopter (e.g. door open, sling load). These novel software functions shall be used in conjunction with surround vision systems installed on the Helicopter to increase crew awareness and interpretation of the surrounding environment to enhance flight safety. The following tasks are activities envisaged to bo be performed during the thesis.
