**About the role**
You will play a vital role in overseeing the commodity accounting closing process for individual trading desks, with a strong focus on profit and loss analysis.
* Facilitate the Commodity Accounting closing process, ensuring smooth month / quarter / year-end procedures and drive continuous process improvements.
* Reconcile performance reporting (full fair value view) to IFRS and local standards while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
* Post unrealised derivatives and accruals for realised transactions.
* Collaborate with the Accounting Data team to enhance transparency and consistency across data streams and support the development of automated processes.
* Analyse accounting data to identify process or system-related issues, providing transparency to management.
* Provide support for accounting-related projects.
**Job requirements and experience**
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACMA/ ACCA/CIMA) with 5+ years of relevant work experience
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with complex data
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access.
* In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or German accounting standards (HGB).
* Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
* Pro-active attitude and team-oriented approach.
**Advantageous, but not essential**
* Familiarity with SAP or S/4HANA.
* Experience with SQL.
* Audit background.
* Experience in the field of commodity trading.
* Experience in the field of risk management and valuation or controlling.
