- •History of success in technical people leadership and mentorship of engineers
- •Ability to work effectively across timezones and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- •Experience in platform engineering and building complex, distributed systems involving Machine Learning
- •Experience with Python, Pytorch, Ray/Anyscale, AWS, Kubernetes, Bazel, vLLM, W&Bs, Argo Workflows, Terraform
- •Showcase first principles thinking and deep understanding of problem space
- •Deep passion for platform engineering and empowering engineering to create business value
- •Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to break large projects into smaller ones
- •Proven expertise in inspiring others to achieve their full potential
- •Continuous learner attitude and enjoyment of global-scale challenges

- •Partner with AI research leadership to understand research roadmaps
- •Identify platform capabilities needed for upcoming initiatives
- •Coordinate with platform capability teams for a seamless researcher experience
- •Drive the delivery of large, cross-team initiatives from ideation to completion
- •Coach a team of 6+ engineers with regular feedback
- •Help engineers reach their personal growth goals
- •Own the team’s development methodology and rituals
- •Collaborate with the Product Manager on the roadmap
- •Plan goals and define success metrics for alignment
- •Champion knowledge sharing and communication across engineering
- •Advocate for ML engineering needs to stakeholders
- •Manage hiring and resourcing needs for roadmap execution
- •Support researchers and AI builders in navigating platform capabilities
- •Optimize workflows to accelerate from experimentation to production
- •Bridge the gap between research needs and platform capabilities
