Anforderungen
- •University degree in law, international law, refugee law, human rights law, or humanitarian law
- •6 years relevant experience with undergraduate degree, or 5 years relevant experience with graduate degree, or 4 years relevant experience with doctorate degree
- •In-depth knowledge of international refugee law and human rights law
- •Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
- •Attention to detail
- •Experience drafting legal guidance in clear and concise English to publication standard
- •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- •Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- •Proficiency in legal research tools
- •Excellent written and spoken English
- •Proficiency in other UN languages

Deine Aufgaben
- •Conduct legal research on international refugee law
- •Develop updated guidance on international refugee law
- •Analyze UNHCR and non-UNHCR sources for legal interpretation
- •Coordinate with external research partners
- •Review UNHCR legal guidance for inconsistencies and gaps
- •Draft research notes and background papers based on findings
- •Maintain accurate records of research and drafts
- •Document project activities and provide status updates
- •Prepare internal research mapping notes
- •Create discussion notes on contentious legal issues
- •Archive research materials and documentation
- •Participate in regular meetings to discuss progress and challenges
- •Advocate for proper interpretation of legal standards
- •Provide legal advice and draft position papers
- •Support the formulation of protection strategies
- •Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on protection principles
- •Handle individual cases involving complex legal questions
- •Represent the office in meetings with external counterparts
- •Prepare protection documents in collaboration with supervisors
- •Contribute to project proposals and implementation
- •Identify and manage risks related to legal responsibilities
