Laboratory Technician (60-100%)

CH - Visp | Full time

This role will be in the Advanced Synthesis Platform and has been created specifically to support a growth project at the Visp site. It represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in the set-up and go live of a new facility, which will serve a diverse customer portfolio.

API Support for Early Phase Development | Lonza

Key responsibilities:

  • Supports set-up of state of the art development and GMP laboratories in a new-build facility.

  • Evaluates, purchases, calibrates, maintains equipment in the laboratory.

  • Runs projects and experiments from lab scale to GMP production; contributes to project delivery.

  • Generates and documents scientific results.

  • Trains apprentices in the laboratory and supports colleagues in area of expertise.

  • Observes regulatory and safety compliance in the laboratory.

  • Supports projects in production facilities.

  • Takes over responsibility as a practical expert in projects and specific key technologies and assets.

Key requirements:

  • You have completed vocational training as a chemical laboratory technician or similar

  • You have practical knowledge in the field of chemical process development; implementation of basic analytical techniques such as HPLC and NMR are an advantage.

  • You enjoy working in a chemical laboratory and are interested in laboratory automation.

  • You have an independent, careful, and reliable way of working. You can work effectively in a team and enjoy interdisciplinary cooperation

  • Experience in GMP is advantageous,

  • Good knowledge of English is necessary. Willingness to learn German is required.
