Junior Mechanical Engineer for CMS Experiment(m/w/x)

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of a reinforced bridge, ensuring safe passage for heavy structures. Your daily responsibilities will include coordinating with teams, overseeing installations, and managing the full project lifecycle.

Anforderungen

• •Ability to perform load calculations and structural checks
• •Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) and finite-element tools
• •Ability to create clear manufacturing drawings and as-built documentation
• •Demonstrated experience in Mechanical design and FEA simulation (ANSYS)
• •Experience preparing technical specifications and performing quality checks
• •Familiarity with heavy lifting operations and vendor coordination
• •Experience coordinating meetings and documenting project progress
• •Design and analysis tools: CATIA & ANSYS
• •Analytical calculation according to applicable standards (Eurocode)
• •Strong organisational skills and supplier management
• •Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with teams and vendors
• •Skilled in technical reporting and documentation
• •Spoken and written English, commitment to learn French
• •Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
• •Maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation
• •No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
• •University degree required
• •PhD not eligible
• •Valid driving licence
