Internship – Laser Production Support / Software Development (f/m/d)

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Production Support Intern (f/m/d) at New Spectra Physics in Rankweil, a subsidiary of MKS Instruments, you will collaborate with the Production Planning team and support Technical Operations to develop and enhance production planning tools that streamline the process from order to delivery. In this role, you will report to the Production Control Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Assisting in the improvement of our production workflow visualization in laser manufacturing, for example, through the application of Power BI.

  • Contributing to increased transparency and data quality regarding production processes.

  • Participating in the research and potential implementation of new suitable tools.

  • Developing and improving production planning tools.

  • Mapping dependencies of various products and assemblies.

  • Generating reports from the planning tool (Shopfloor).

  • Displaying results graphically on the Shopfloor Management Board.

Skills You Bring:

  • A general understanding of analysis and reporting software tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, typical databases like SQL).

  • Eagerness to learn and interest in innovative solutions.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.

  • Basic knowledge in process mapping combined with strong methodological competence in this area.

  • The ability and passion to create concepts for corporate data management using modern tools such as cloud computing and big data.

  • Currently enrolled as a BA or MA student in Business Informatics, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAP data extraction.

  • Familiarity with typical production methods and lean concepts.
