### The Position
At Roche, we believe it’s urgent to deliver medical solutions right now – even as we develop innovations for the future. We are passionate about transforming patients’ lives, and we are fearless in both making decisions and taking action. And we believe that good business means a better world.
That is why we come to work each day. We commit ourselves to scientific rigor, unassailable ethics, and access to medical innovations for all. We do this today to build a better tomorrow.
At **Translational PK/PD and Clinical Pharmacology (TPCP)**, we drive benefits to every patient by selecting the right drug and dosing regimen. During drug discovery, one of our key activities is estimating efficacious dose in humans using the non-clinical data—which serves as an early assessment drug feasibility and informs the clinical development programs.
## In this position, you will
* Learn and apply pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics models of therapeutic oligonucleotides to understand the drug concentrations and the drug effect in non-clinical studies
* Evaluate and compare different translational methods to identify a robust method(s) for estimating efficacious dose in humans
* Be part of a 3-4 team focusing on discovery of therapeutic oligonucleotides under the co-supervision of a team leader and cross-functional team members
* Be exposed to novel therapeutic approaches to improve quality of life for patients living with chronic, severe diseases
##
## Who you are
You are currently enrolled in a university **B.Sc. or M.Sc. program** in life sciences (preferably in the area of Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences/Engineering, or a related discipline) or you have completed your degree within the past 12 months
##
## Moreover, you are
* Ideally trained and experienced in mathematical modeling of biological systems or pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics modeling, with an understanding of ordinary differential equations
* Familiar with Matlab, R, Phoenix Nonlin, NONMEM, or a similar software
