# Intern (d/f/m) Simulation and Software Development in the Field of Space Technology and Missile Defence

Future satellite missions are currently being investigated which use optical measurements for a real-time trajectory estimation of space objects. Possible applications are the observation of launchers and re-entry vehicles.
An initial simulation environment for performance engineering of such a satellite-based observation mission is already established and subject to ongoing extensions. The goal of this work will be supporting the software development of particular modules, such as a GUI as well as subroutines for track handling and multi-target tracking.

* Gain an insight into the field of space-based target detection and tracking and corresponding in-house simulation software.
* Assist in software development of adapting subroutines for GUI and multi-target tracking.

## Desired skills and qualifications
* Fulltime enrolled student (d/f/m) within (software) engineering, computer science, physics or comparable.
* Good knowledge in numerical methods and data filtering algorithms.
* Good knowledge in coding in Java (FXML) or similar GUI frameworks.
* Experience in coding in Fortran 95+.
* Fluent English and/or German.
* You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
