# Intern Electric Powertrain Optimization (f/m/x)

We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Electric Powertrain Design using Optimization. You will contribute to the transformation of vehicle development processes by modelling the entire electric powertrain (electric machine, transmission, inverter, battery) both functionally and geometrically. The task is to formulate and solve multidisciplinary parametric optimisation problems for these highly interconnected components. By applying appropriate algorithms, you will actively shape the future of automotive development.
**What awaits you?**
* Be part of the digital transformation and support the virtualization of overall vehicle development.
* Systematically derive optimization problems based on requirements using algorithmic software tools.
* Create a structured overview of design processes for concept vehicles. Hereby, the focus is on the electric powertrain consisting of the electrical machine, transmission, inverter and battery.
* Use an optimization algorithm to solve the multi-disciplinary optimization problem. This should yield an optimal powertrain design.
* Support the team in modeling processes and optimization tasks within the workflow.
* Become part of a dynamic team and gain insights into modern vehicle development.
* Bring in your own ideas, gain valuable experience and get a foretaste of future vehicle projects.
**What should you bring along?**
* Current Bachelor's or Master's degree in automotive engineering, electrical engineering or similar.
* Experience in electric vehicle development.
* Ideally, knowledge of mathematical optimisation and systems engineering, including UML and SysML, is preferred.
* Strong hands-on software development experience with Python.
* Fluent English with solid communication skills.
* Independent and structured working style with a high level of self-motivation.
