# HSE Manager Europe (m/f/d)
**Germany Berlin** | **Full time**
**A day in the life at Atotech Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG**
The HSE Manager Europe (m/f/d) will act as a champion for continuous improvement to support behavioral and cultural change within a global matrix organization where environment, health and safety management is world class and is embedded within the business operations. In this role, you will report to the Global Senior Director of HSEQS and you will be part of the HSEQS leadership team globally.
**You Will Make an Impact By**
* Oversees the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures (high risk safety rules, illness and injury prevention, and building safety) within the company.
* Deliver continuous and sustainable improvements in HSEQS performance across their region, facilitating a standardized approach in line with global requirements and support and deploy global HSEQS initiatives in the region.
* Provide exceptional HSEQS leadership to Regional personnel, identify trends in site accident, near miss events, including monthly key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Collaborate with leaders/managers in production sites, technical centers, laboratories and offices across the region to assess safety processes, systems, safety organisation and culture and agree improvement plans.
* Ensures compliance with local regulations pertaining to HSEQS as a minimum whilst striving for best in class HSEQS performance.
* Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.
* Facilitate responses to serious incidents within the Region as and when necessary and ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.
* Selects, develops, and evaluates HSEQS personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function in the region.
**Skills You Bring**
* Degree in a technical or safety related discipline with professional industry experience appropriate for this role. Recognition of EHS professional status through Membership of local professional body.
* Experience of working in the chemical industry with a working knowledge of hazardous chemicals.
* Strong leadership organizational, communication, problem-solving skills are essential. Ability to coach and mentor other within the organisation.
* A strong influencer capable of supporting, challenging and providing clear feedback to all levels of Line Management.
* Good IT literacy skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
* Hands on leader with good people management skills, build strong relationships and influence across diverse groups and participate effectively on cross-functional teams at multiple levels of the organization.
* Strong project management skills, and a bias towards action and experience with implementing procedures and conducting training.
* Travel Requirements: Up to 15% of Travel may be require.
